Microsoft “Virtual Launch Experience”

March 6, 2008

As I may have mentioned once or twice already :), Microsoft has started is launch program for Windows Server 2008 as well as Visual Studio 2008 and SQL 2008 (RTM due in H2 2008).  We’ve already had the community launch in Ireland (thanks to the MTUG communities).  The official Microsoft launch is taking place on March 11th … it’s gonna be a big one and you’ll get to witness yours truly tripping up over himself on stage in the Server demo room!!!  That will be worth the cost of parking all by itself!

As you can imagine, tickets for this launch were in great demand.  It’s also in Dublin which won’t be suitable for everyone.  Never mind, you can have the "virtual launch experience"!

You’ll need Silverlight to run this site.  I recommend you get it because more and more of the Microsoft site requires this small installation.  And as Martha Rotter has demonstrated at many events here in Ireland, it’s a great and easy way to provide a multimedia experience from your web applications.
